I am a technology professional with over 25 years of experience mostly working as a database engineer. Most of my experience has been on development teams creating enterprise applications and my interests lean toward performance and tuning and high availability architectures. I've been a tech lead and manager for a Fortune 10 company as well as serving federal government customers and currently work as a consultant for a large database vendor.
If you are working on a resume for a position in the technology space, my experience can help. I've reviewed thousands of resumes and interviewed hundreds of people. I've written hundreds of resumes for friends, family and friends of friends. I've experienced the whole spectrum, working in both commercial and government spaces, large and small teams, as an individual contributor and as a team leader. I've dealt with developers, testers, trainers, program and project managers and customers. Java, pl/sql, stored procedures, explain plans, middleware, replication, project plans, user stories, milestones, containers, virtual machines - the list never ends and I've dealt with a lot of it.
When helping people with resumes, I try to clarify three things: competencies, context and capacity. We will certainly articulate what you are good at. But here's something most people miss on resumes - helping the prospective employer understand your context and your capacity. Let me help you clarify all of it so you can land the interview.
My hobbies include international travel, running a youth leadership nonprofit and my Toyota 4Runner.
