Looking for an AV/IT Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining audio‑visual and network infrastructure across commercial environments. This role requires strong hands‑on technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver clean, reliable installations.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, terminate, and test network cabling, including RJ45 connectors and keystone jacks (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a).
• Mount, configure, and troubleshoot displays, TVs, projectors, speakers, and other AV hardware.
• Run and manage low‑voltage cabling through walls, ceilings, conduits, and exterior surfaces.
• Perform basic network setup: switch connections, VLAN awareness, IP addressing fundamentals, and device configuration.
• Diagnose and resolve AV/IT issues, including signal flow, connectivity, and hardware failures.
• Ensure all installations meet safety, quality, and industry standards.
• Document work performed, including cable routes, terminations, and equipment configurations.
Required Skills & Knowledge
• Proficiency in Ethernet cable termination, including T568A/B standards.
• Experience with keystone jack punch‑downs and cable testing tools.
• Understanding of AV signal types (HDMI, SDI, audio, PoE, etc.).
• Basic networking knowledge: switches, routers, IP basics, and network troubleshooting.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, floor plans, and technical documentation.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and comfort working in commercial field environments.
