Seems to be a relatively rare/scarce toy, and appears to be in very nice, well-kept condition.
This early-1970's Lady Bug Riding Toy, Model No. B-400, was made by the Junior Toy Division of AMF, Incorporated. It used an Elpower EP680 Rechargeable Solid Gel Battery. (Battery no longer works--it's up to you to find a replacement.) Included is the original Battery, Charger, and copy of Assembly Instructions with Parts List (No. 80-922). Measurements are approximately 30" from front (red nose) to back; 19 1/2" from side to side (end of each foot rest pedal); and 13" high from the back of the seat to the floor. The lady bug was in great working condition when last used in the 70's. I can't guarantee that it'll work now, as I have no new battery for it. But, it was carefully kept inside and surely looks good. The lady who owned it as a child said that it was only used inside -- the ladybug's clean, smooth plastic wheels/tires seem to confirm this.
In looking for information on-line, a kind soul told me this: "Hi just getting back to you about the AMF wheel goods catalog, I was in the bicycle business so I have a lot of bicycle catalogs and I came across a 1974 catalog and dealer price sheet, the lady bug battery powered toy was in the price sheet @ $19.80 dealer cost in February 1974, in October 1974 was discontinued however there is no picture of it in the catalog. Just thought I would pass that information on to you."
