"The ISLANDS TEAM has surveyed expats, researched the costs, and made scouting trips to the WORLD'S most enticing islands. Result: Our 20 Best Islands To Live On List For 2018: NUMBER ONE IN THE WORLD IS THE BIG ISLAND OF HAWAII."

I am interested in trading my incredible 7.47 acre 900' elevation lot on the Big Island of Hawaii for a nice building lot in Howard County, Maryland. It is a Fee Simple property on the West side of the island with a giant ocean view and walking path to the beach in a gated subdivision. I would want a property of equal value in any area in Columbia, Ellicott City, Clarkesville, or Western Howard County with top-flight schools. It must have all necessary utilities. My acreage is located in Captain Cook in beautiful South Kona with easy access to Kona International Airport. It has electricity available on site and fronts on a paved road that intersects with the main highway serving the vibrant City of Kona and encircling the entire island. It is a few minutes from a local elementary school with free full time pre-school and endless beaches including one, Ho'okena, where you can scuba, snorkel, or swim with dolphins and whales.
This is a magnificent place with no bugs, no snakes, great climate with low humidity, and beauty wherever you look. Kona is famous for its signature Kona coffee and has a gigantic new Costco, a Walmart and Home Depot and wonderful commercial and cultural facilities.
I love my Hawaiian acreage and would love to build on it and retire, but I am 76 and my children (one in pre-school), grandchildren, and sisters all live in the Baltimore/Washington area, which makes it necessary for me to give it up.
My lot is in the Kona Sea Ranch gated development and I have provided a map with my pictures. I do have a special connection to and love for Howard County, where I currently reside.
This lot has great rental and commercial and agricultural potential. Hawaii has recently offered licenses to people with 2 acres and more to commercially grow hemp, for instance. The land is ideally situated for coffee production, avocados, and macadamia nuts.
