I am James H. I am currently looking for work as an independent technician. My experience is with desktop, laptop, and android hardware & software. After helping a few friends of mine with their issues, I was prompted to write this.
I have bills to pay, including car insurance and gas, on top of my credit card. My family is helping, but it seems about time I returned the favor to them, and even carry it forward.
I have over 5 years of professional experience as an intern for a software contractor that serves a few three-letter organizations associated with Washington DC. It was a good opportunity to work independently, but to be a part of a team so that when you have a specific problem, there is a specific person you can go to for help with it. I have a few of these IT "Techie" friends who I collaborate with still today, my network is always updating...
I am CompTIA A+ and Network+ Certified. These are Software, Hardware, and Network maintenance certificates. The Security+ is underway now, I'll take the exam for that by June, 2026. I'm currently learning about Cybersecurity, and how to protect data. I've been sure to take a piece of practical knowledge to use almost daily from studying for these certifications, including the small tips I left at the beginning of this document!
I also have this fancy Computer Science Degree from University of Maryland, Baltimore County. However, don't let it deter you. What you think I may find menial, I will probably enjoy.
