Receive a full-time salary for one houseparent and a part-time salary for another, who can hold another job.
Receive extensive, ongoing training and support to develop your skills in working with youth.
Houseparents enjoy a network of support. You will be part of a team, including counseling and school staff, that utilizes a holistic restorative practices philosophy. Using talking circles and other informal techniques, restorative practices engage youth to help them make positive changes they need to succeed. This approach allows us to build rapport among teens and staff and address wrongdoing, when it occurs, as an opportunity for learning and growth.
Many houseparents have a background or interest in counseling, education, social work, juvenile probation, teaching and faith communities. There is no degree requirement, but you must be at least 21 and possess a clear criminal check, child abuse clearance and a current driver’s license. Email : firstname.lastname@example.org.EOE
