This position involves working with children and/or adults who reside with their families or caregivers, ensuring their participation in all aspects of community life, offering and assisting with services that support them in doing so.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
â€¢ Assist with daily living skills (e.g. lifting, transferring, toileting, bathing, personal hygiene, meals, dressing, social activities, etc.).
â€¢ Promote appropriate community integration and social interaction.
â€¢ Assisting in the implementation of outcomes and goals developed in the Individual Plan (IP).
â€¢ Complete paperwork as assigned including documentation (e.g.monthly progress notes, community integration logs, incident reports, etc.)
â€¢ Attend all meetings, in-service trainings, and monthly supervisions as required by supervisor.
â€¢ Work cooperatively with professional and paraprofessional staff in the best interest of the supported individual.
â€¢ Work cooperatively with the individual's family members and caregivers.
â€¢ Assist with the individual's recreational, cultural and vacation plans of his/her choice.
â€¢ Ensure that the individual assigned has interaction opportunities with peers who are not disabled.
â€¢ Ensure receipts and back-up documentation for any monetary responsibilities.
â€¢ Demonstrate proper use of the agency approved time keeping KRONOS (for Arc employees).
â€¢ Complete all agency required trainings for position.
â€¢ Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures as specified by The Arc Baltimore.
â€¢ Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
â€¢ High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
â€¢ Related experience preferred.
â€¢ Must be able to work independently.
â€¢ Individual will work in a culturally diverse and stimulating environment; Individual must enjoy working in the community.
â€¢ May be required to lift /assist in transferring individuals, as needed.
â€¢ Valid Maryland driver's license required and approved clean driving record necessary
â€¢ Individual must have own vehicle.
