I am an experienced "solo" guitarist and vocalist who just moved back here, and I am hoping to put quickly assemble a tight duo or trio.
My previous project was doing very well, but I had to move.
However, I know this area will support a similar project exceptionally well.
*I am originally from Baltimore and grew up playing all the local clubs here*
This project will lean heavily on 70s, 80s, and 90s tunes but will also include newer material.
Some artists covered include:
Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, Eagles, James Taylor, CSN, Fleetwood Mac, Toto, Paul Simon, Beatles, America, (select) Zeppelin, (select) Grateful Dead, (select) Allman Bros, Jackson Browne, Commodores, Peter Gabriel, with singles by STP (Plush, Interstate), Incubus (Drive), REM (a few), ELO, Duran Duran, Cold Play, Collective Soul..... the list is intentionally vast and diverse for variety.
(!) ==> Because I *currently* sing lead on all of the songs that I play, the fastest way to get the project off the ground and in front of audiences is to find a vocalist who can find and sing the harmonies on the songs I already perform.
*However, if you have good lead vocal skills that would be a great addition and allow me to sing some harmony (which I love to do!)
*If you bring skills on another instrument, that might be fun, too, but many of the songs I play are considered difficult to learn if you are not a seasoned and skilled musician (Steely Dan, etc).
PS: If you are up for that challenge, then I am very interested in playing with you.
I have the PA and all the equipment for a working duo or trio.
I also have a large "studio" of sorts in my house.
You must have a "Pro attitude and work ethic."
*-This means that you should know your parts before we get together.-*
If you want to be reading off your phone, tablet, or monitor, that is not going to work.
(An occasional refreshing glance at your screen *during "practice"* is obviously ok. However, a piece of helpful advice to aspiring "singers;" You are not prepared to sing at the level you are hoping to achieve if you are singing while reading.
***Good vocalists know all of the lyrics and most or all of the notes and the inflections, etc. for each song they are performing in front of an audience.
That is what makes us "good."
In addition, no one comes out to watch someone reading off their screens.
Karaoke is a different form of entertainment.)
Key Elements that I am Hoping to Find -also Describe myself:
Want to play for the love of it.
Without sacrificing integrity- want to play quality music and a quality setlist.
Looking for likeminded musicians to gig one or two times per month (maybe more if things are running smoothly)
Can sing both lead and harmonies.
Wishing you the best in your musical adventures and journey!
