I've decided to sell off the raunchiest amp I've ever played: my Peavey VTM 60. I bought this amp around 2014 from a local music studio, replaced the preamp and power tubes, and played it quietly at home since then.
This thing just rips. It's so loud. It's designed after a JCM 800 with switchable mods that were customary for Marshalls in the 80s, including gain boosts, a diode-clipping circuit, and boosts for the lows, mids, and highs. It's touch-sensitive, has beautiful cleans on the low input, and can achieve modern gain levels when pushed with a tubescreamer. If I had unlimited space and money I would keep it, but I need to get my gear collection under control and this amp deserves a player who can crank it. If you like the guitar tones on Baroness' Red Album, Exhumed's "Horror," or Badmotorfinger, this is your guy.
