A fantastic-sounding violin from the golden era of the Ernst Heinrich Roth shop in Markneukirchen, labeled under the Eugen Meinel name used for their exports.
It’s in excellent condition and very well set up, playing with a deep, rich, and warm tone. Currently strung with Thomastik Rondo strings.
There’s a well-repaired top crack from the treble f-hole to the edge and a small wing crack on the bass side f-hole (unrepaired) — both shown in photos. Some minor scraping under the tailpiece from fine tuners, but otherwise minimal wear for its age.
