Selling my slightly used 50 year old IBANEZ acoustic guitar in its original case, with shoulder strap included, for $800 OBO (cash sale only). It is a six string guitar and made for a right handed player. It is the RARE Sunburst SERIES 950 only made from (1976 - 1978) in Japan! This guitar has a deep, rich tone to it.
It is a dreadnought body design with a selected close-grained spruce top on aged mahogany back and sides with a high gloss finish. The round soundhole is trimmed with black and white marquetry rosette and a tortoise shell colored pickguard. The slim mahogany neck has a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot position markers. Components include a compensated plastic saddle in an adjustable rosewood bridge with white bridge pins, a plastic nut, and chrome plated machine heads.
It is only slightly used, but mostly in like-new condition and may have been played a total of 50 times - or even less over the years. It has some very fine scratches on the bottom as see in the one side picture. There is normal wear to the guitar case itself, needing some minor repairs to the interior.
This was bought brand new in the mid 70's as a birthday gift. I am the original and only owner of this guitar. I took lesson for less than one year and then left it in the closet - pretty much up until now. Still sounds in excellent condition.
This guitar was handmade in Japan. It has beautiful craftsmanship, superior materials, and a great deep / rich sound quality to it. It has a warm, smooth tone as well. It has pretty much stayed in tune over all these years, surprisingly. Strings have been replaced once in the past. It is a Series 950! ONLY made from 1976 to 1978 due to a law suit from Gibson. I do not have any picks left for playing it. This was a $300 guitar in the 70's when purchased new.
It was made to be played, so it is more than time to get rid of it. My child has no interest in it, so there is no reason for me to hang on to it anymore.
