Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Grinder to join our Welding Department. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, smoothing, and finishing metal components to meet quality and safety standards. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who takes pride in precision work and maintaining high production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Grind, sand, and polish welded metal parts using hand and power tools
• Remove excess weld material, slag, and imperfections from surfaces
• Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality specifications
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
• Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective equipment
• Assist welders and fabricators as needed to support workflow
• Keep work area clean and organized
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in grinding, metal finishing, or a related field preferred
• Familiarity with welding processes and metal fabrication is a plus
• Ability to use grinders, sanders, and other hand tools safely
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Basic understanding of workplace safety standards
• Reliable with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
