Small yet busy law firm seeks an experienced Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant to support partners and associates with legal and administrative tasks in our Ellicott City office. Please submit cover letter, resume and salary requirements when replying to this ad.

Responsibilities include: 

• Communicate with clients, vendors, courts, government agencies and firm personnel in a professional manner in person and via telephone and written correspondence 

• Answer incoming calls, obtain intake information and direct call to the appropriate person 

• Schedule on- and off-site meetings for attorneys and prepare for meetings at the office

• Prepare and mail correspondence 

• Organize and maintain case files; Document management

• Coordinate day-to-day workflow of matters and serve as a point of contact for professional staff

• Focus on deadlines, prioritize activities and follow up on matters

• Manage expectations of clients, vendors and others doing business with the firm

• Demonstrate resourcefulness by effectively utilizing firm resources and personnel 

• Must be able to adapt quickly to changing demands and workflow
• General office duties


• Desired minimum two years supporting a law firm 

• Must be proficient with MS Office, be highly organized and a self-starter 

• Must be able to multi task, have strong attention to detail and willing to work in a fast-paced practice

• Maryland eFiling experience a plus

• Bachelor's Degree preferred
