Position Responsibilities:
- Drive and assist with the loading, transportation, and delivery of household goods while ensuring adherence to company standards and procedures.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of assigned trucks, checking for damage and promptly reporting any concerns to the Operations team.
- Prepare accurate and thorough inventories of household goods, furniture, and other customer belongings as required.
- Safely lift, carry, move, and position heavy items using proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment (e.g., hand trucks and dollies).
- Assist in preparing trucks for departure from the warehouse by ensuring all required equipment and materials are loaded, including packing supplies, moving blankets, dollies, and home protection kits.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and organization to crew members to ensure work is completed efficiently and in accordance with company standards.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members to deliver exceptional customer service and ensure compliance with customer agreements and company procedures.
- Help with warehouse tasks as needed, including checking shipments in and out, loading and unloading storage vaults, preparing trucks, organizing materials, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Represent the company professionally by demonstrating a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to outstanding customer service.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license required
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable moving and storage experience required
- Previous experience driving 26-foot box trucks required
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work
- Clean driving record with no more than 1 at-fault accident in the past 3 years
- No more than 3 minor moving violations in the past 3 years
- No major driving violations within the past 3 years
- No convictions for DWI, DUI, felony, or drug-related offenses within the past 3 years (misdemeanor convictions must be at least 1 year old)
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills
- Comfortable using technology and inventory systems
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, professional, and able to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Additional Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
- Reliable transportation to Savage, MD
