Vintage Metal Serving Tray from The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, commonly known as A&P.
The oval tin tray features an image of a horse-drawn delivery wagon and mentions "350 Stores" and "New Brunswick, N.J.
A&P was an American grocery store chain that was in operation from 1859 to 2015.
At its peak, from 1915 to 1975, it was the largest grocery retailer in the United States and, until 1965, the largest U.S. retailer of any kind.
The number of stores grew dramatically over time, reaching 16,000 stores by 1930. The tray's inscription of "350 Stores" indicates it is from an earlier period in the company's history when its store count was still growing.
The company is credited with pioneering concepts like self-service shopping and store-brand items, such as Eight O'Clock coffee.
The tray can be repurposed to add a unique, vintage touch to home decor, such as wall art, a centerpiece on a coffee table, dining table, or ottoman. It can be a base for candles, a vase of flowers, or a collection of books.
How about as an organizer on a table in an entryway to hold keys, wallets, or mail or on a bedside table to keep small items like jewelry, glasses, or a phone organized.
In the kitchen it can be a stylish way to organize spices or cooking essentials near the stove or on a counter or cart, holding shot glasses and other bar accessories. Lots of options.
