Summary
Surgical Tech (Opering Room Technologist) –
The Opering Room Technologist (ORT) functions as a scrub tech in surgical procedures, ensuring sterile instruments and supplies are prepared and maintained throughout operions. Responsibilities include supporting surgeons during procedures, anticiping surgical team needs, maintaining strict aseptic technique, handling instruments efficiently, and following hospital policies along with AORN standards to promote pient safety. The ORT also manages instrument decontaminion and proper equipment care after procedures while communicing important pient or procedural informion to the surgical team. The role reports to the Clinical Manager of Surgical Services and supports Carroll Hospital’s mission and SPIRIT values.
Requirements
- Preferred: High school diploma
- Required: 1–3 years of healthcare experience with sterile technique knowledge
- CPR certificion (AHA Healthcare Provider)
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certificion required
