About this Job: General Summary of PositionThe goal of the MedStar Sports Medicine Sports Physical Therapy Residency is to provide the physical therapy resident with an opportunity to develop advanced competence and clinical expertise in the specialty field of sports physical therapy. The sports physical therapy resident will be offered the strongest educion in the development of sports physical therapy theoretical rionale evaluion and trement skills and clinical reasoning processes in order to promote the prevention trement and rehabilition of injuries in an active pient populion
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Educion
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy required or
- Master's degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy required or
- Doctoral degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy required
- 1-2 years clinical experience in an outpient rehabilition setting with demonstred clinical expertise preferred
- Professional competency as a physical therapist or new gradue with least one year experience Physical Therapist preferred
- PT - Physical Therapist licensure in Maryland District of Columbia (DC) and/or Virginia as deemed necessary for your specific locion(s) required
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscition (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Associion (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required
- Additional unit/specialty certificions may vary by department or business unit.
- Professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy; demonstres independent use of varied evaluion and trement approaches.
