We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have lived experience in recovery and a strong commitment to supporting individuals living with mental health and/or substance use challenges. The Peer Recovery Specialist will work collaboratively with clients to promote recovery, personal growth, and community integration.
Responsibilities:
Provide peer support services to individuals in recovery from mental health and/or substance use disorders.
Use recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered approaches to empower clients.
Model healthy coping skills, self-advocacy, and recovery-based living.
Assist clients in developing and achieving individualized recovery goals.
Document services accurately and maintain required program records.
Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards of peer support.
Requirements:
Must hold an active Maryland Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) License — must have completed and passed the certification exam and hold a current active license (a certificate of training alone does not meet this requirement).
Must have lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery.
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Must have a reliable car, a valid driver’s license with no points, and proof of active auto insurance.
Must complete all required training and program onboarding.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work in community, home, and office environments.
