This is a tiger maple reproduction for the The Henry Ford Museum of an original late-1700's clock in their collection. The Museum's original clock was handcrafted in the late 1700's by Thomas Jackson in Preston, Connecticut.

Tiger maple cabinet features decorative details which represent waves and whale's tails. Flame and pineapple finials rest atop the bonnet, supported by four reeded columns. Engraved brass Roman numeral dial with second hand, an eight-day, pendulum & weight-driven movement, plays chimes every quarter hour and strikes the hour.

This reproduction was made for the Museum in the late 20th Century by Colonial Clock Company, of Zeeland, Michigan. It was sold by the Museum to clock collectors.

Case and dial are in excellent vintage condition. Movement mechanism is untested by current owner who preferred not to have clock chime. Case is structurally sound and sturdy.
