A nationwide research study by the National Institute on Drug Abuse aims to understand how boredom, curiosity, and mental focus and engagement relate to cannabis use. By learning directly from cannabis users, the study seeks to identify when cannabis enhances activities, when it may contribute to boredom, and how these experiences differ across individuals.
You may qualify if you are 18 years or older, have consumed cannabis* at least 2 times in the past month, live in the United States, and are proficient in English.
Participation includes completing an online consent form, an eligibility screener, and taking part in an online survey about your cannabis use and daily experiences (up to 70 minutes to complete).
This survey does not offer compensation because online studies that provide payment often receive large numbers of fraudulent or bot-generated responses, which compromise data quality and make it difficult to understand people’s real experiences with cannabis. Your voluntary and honest participation will help ensure meaningful findings and support the development of real-time tools and mobile app features designed to better assist individuals in their everyday environments.
* Cannabis includes products made from the cannabis plant (such as leaf, flower, or buds) as well as products that are smoked, vaped, or eaten, including vapes, edibles, dabs, oils, wax, and shatter.
