HOUSEKEEPER ( submit your resume)
Location: Primary- Butler, MD / Summer: Northeast Harbor, Maine
Live-in: Yes, separate apartment provided with paid utilities.
Days of the Week: Monday – Friday (late night and weekend work not usually needed)
Hours to Work: Regularly from morning to afternoon - flexible ( 40 hours)
The home is 7,000 sq ft and two mature adults live in the house, their children visit ocassionaly. The home is located in the rolling hills of Baltimore county but within 10-15 mins of shops and more.
Job Summary:
The Housekeeper is responsible for the general cleanliness and orderly presentability of the home(s) and
assures that the home(s) are guest-ready at all times.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May need to assist in overseeing outside vendors, additional help, caterers, etc.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Make beds and tidy the bedrooms.
Clean bathrooms at least once daily – includes sinks, counters, toilets, faucets, tubs, showers
and mirrors.
Dust and polish furnisher at least once per week – more often as necessary.
Maintain clean kitchen countertops.
Light food prep and meals
Empty sink of all dishes, pots, pans, etc. – run dishwasher as necessary.
Trash removal.
Stock restrooms, linen closets and pantry. Assure proper inventory is kept.
Shopping for groceries and other items, as needed.
Clean up spills, dirt and any other messes as necessary.
Mop kitchen and other floors as necessary but at least every other day.
Clean outside of appliances as necessary but at least every other day.
Vacuum and sweep high-traffic areas as necessary – minimum once per day.
Maintain all rooms tidy and organized – placing all items in their proper place.
Laundry as needed – wash, dry and fold clothes and place in drawers, etc. Clean appliances.
Wash and replace bed sheets, blankets, mattress covers, pillowcases at least once per week.
Clean inside of refrigerators weekly – discard expired items, maintain fresh and clean as needed.
Monthly organizing and cleaning of closets and drawers.
Monthly cleaning of inside of oven and as necessary.
Monthly cleaning of ceiling light fixtures and wipe fan blades.
Monthly wash windows and window treatments.
Monthly wipe down baseboards, moldings, doors, vents, door frames or as necessary.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Pet dog care for two small dogs – only if necessary.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Discreet, dependable, trustworthy, and patient. Must maintain the privacy, confidentiality, and
discretion that the family expects. Should blend into the background, be friendly but not too
familiar.
Excellent interpersonal skills with focus on hospitality.
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with family and guests.
Welcoming and pleasant to visitors and guests.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to stay on task and meet deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills – keep family abreast of issues and repairs needed, etc.
Ability to interact and take direction from principals.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
Non-smoker.
Pet friendly and no significant allergies.
Education and Experience:
Preferred - High school diploma or equivalent.
At least five years relevant experience serving HNW families required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to navigate steps
Prolonged periods of bending, stretching and other physical movement.
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
