Hi There! We're a haircare startup developing new science for coloring hair while protecting human and hair health. We're looking to collect hair of different types to test our science with. If you're about to chop of 8 inches or more, consider donating your hair towards some pretty cool science. :)
Due to high interest in our first posting, we are now only accepting hair donations cut from ponytails of 8 inches or longer weighing AT MINIMUM 50g. Donations meeting these criteria will be compensated with $100 (via zelle).
*Afro/kinky/coily hair donations can be a minimum of 6 inches when pulled straight.
All hair types and processing histories (dyed, permed, etc.) are welcome, we just ask that you please disclose whatever fun hair science you've already performed on your locks. :-) Donations will be destroyed after testing.
Note: we do NOT cut hair- hair must be provided in a cut ponytail. See below for more information on how to prepare a hair donation:
1. Section your hair: Divide the hair into one or more ponytails or braids, with a tight elastic band at both ends to secure it. For a thicker donation, use multiple ponytails.
2. Cut above the ties: Have a stylist cut the hair above the top elastic, or use sharp scissors to cut it yourself, leaving the ponytails intact.
3. Measure curly hair: If your hair is curly, pull it straight before measuring to get an accurate length for the donation guidelines.
4. Package the donation: Place the secured ponytail or braid in a sealed plastic or ziplock bag. Include any necessary paperwork or a note with your contact information.
5. Mail the package: Send the bag in an outer envelope or box to the designated address.
