This coin was issued by Portuguese Guinea (modern-day Guinea-Bissau) It was struck to celebrate the 5th centenary (500th anniversary) of the Territory's discovery by Portuguese explorers. The obverse features the coat of arms for Portuguese Guinea, the reverse displays the denomination "50 CENTAVOS", has the commemorative dates "1446-1946" It weighs about 4 grams and a dimeter of 23mm. Minted in Lisbon, Portugal, has a nice reddish color but my phone camera doesn't show it very good. $8
