For sale is a unique piece of American history; an official US Mint working coin die used at the Denver Mint to strike 1994 Washington Quarters. This is a heavy, industrial steel "obverse" (heads side) die that has been officially decommission by the Mint. It is a "Cancelled-Defaced" specimen, meaning the face of the die after its service life to prevent any unauthorized use. 1994 Denver Mint-25c Quarter-Certified by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Company) I included the NGC Sticker number and the number on the metal, is the actual Mint production number (D4-557588) The us Mint no longer sells these to the public, making NGC-certified dies from the 1990s increasingly difficult to find.
