This coin has been certified by National Numismatic Certification (NNC) as PR70 DCAM (Proof70 Deep Cameo) The one pound coin was first introduced into British currency in April 1983. Made of solid 0.925 sterling silver, it is a "Piedfort" coin, meaning it has been specially struck on a thicker than normal planchet.
