This is the year this denomination was first introduced, making it great piece of Panamanian numismatic history. No mint mark, but it was struck at the Philadelphia Mint and was designed to be exact in size and silver content to the U.S. Half Dollar of the era. Weight is 12.5 grams, 90% silver (.900) and has a diameter of about 31mm. There was only 300,000 coins minted making it a "Better Date" to collect. The obverse features a bust of Vasco Nunez de Balboa in full armor, facing left, the reverse features the Panamanian Coat of Arms. A nice coin with strong lines and a soft golden toning. $65
