Rare Antique Chimonola Talking Machine Model 11, serial number 1026, circa 1919.
Great accent piece. Cabinet is 44" high x 19" wide x 21" deep.
The Chimonola brand was sold in the Cleveland, Ohio area and was made in Celina, Ohio by the Celina Furniture Company that was part of the Mersman Brothers, Brandts Company that had a long history of making tables and other furniture and branched out into talking machines to meet the demand of the 1910s era. They also made the Harponola Talking Machines brand under the Harponola Company name.
The motor, reproducer, and tone arm are likely from the Otto Heineman Phonograph Supply Company in New York.
The turntable and arm parts show their age but still work and can play vintage records of the era.
Interior of the record player area is the original finish. The wood grill and fabric are original. The mahogany colored cabinet exterior was refinished many years ago.
Interior of the storage cabinet is in fair condition but could be refinished and modified to hold modern A/V equipment or used as is for storage. The interior measurements are: 18" high x 17.5" deep x 16.5" wide..
