Plant Stand Fern Stand Antique Brass, Copper & Onyx

For sale is my late aunt’s plant stand. We inherited it from her 10 years ago just as it is. I have not cleaned it or altered it in any way as to preserve its authenticity. Both my aunt’s home and ours were smoke free homes.

It has an ornate copper top and center square with removable onyx inserts held together with curved brass legs. Top piece is a 14” square housing a 10” onyx square. Center piece is a 8” square housing a 6” onyx square. It is 29” high.

From all the research I have done I believe this to be an Antique Bradley & Hubbard School Brass & Onyx Fern Stand, from around the turn of the century. My late aunt was my wealthy aunt and she only had the finest of things. This is what makes me believe this is the real deal.

The following is a description I found in my research: “Bradley and Hubbard fern stand offers brass frame with onyx display having pierced scroll and foliate bordering, raised on cabriole legs with matching lower shelf and terminating in stylized cast feet, c1890”

This sounds like a description of my aunt’s plant stand. I had a friend of mine who is an antique dealer look it over and he said everything looked correct for the period so if it was not a turn of the century Bradley & Hubbard it was a very good reproduction.

Only reason for selling is due to downsizing and will not fit in our new apartment.

I have seen these selling for $600.00 but I am asking $350.00 or best offer.

If the listing is active it is still available so please don’t bother asking.
Thank you for looking.
