The mirror is a large, ornate gilt mirror, likely in the French Louis XV or Rococo Revival style, designed as an overmantel mirror to be placed above a fireplace. These types of mirrors were popular in the 19th century and often feature elaborate carved details such as acanthus leaves, scrollwork, and shell motifs in the crest.
