This mirror was purchased as part of a complete bedroom set in the 1950's, around 1953 to be exact, from a furniture store in downtown Baltimore, Maryland. The brand name of the mirror is Stanley Furniture. This was a well-known brand name of furniture at the time. The mirror used to hang above a double-sized bedroom dresser. The entire mirror (with frame) measures 45" wide x 33.5" high, and the frame itself is 2 1/8 inches in depth. There is gold banding around the edge of the mirror. There are also shell motifs on all four corners. There is decorative scroll, wood inlay inside the frame. There is gold on the decorative accents around the mirror. This is a heavy mirror, and because of it's weight, there is a mounting bracket on the back (see pics).
