Roommate wanted to renew lease with for a 3 bed/1.5 bath semi-detached home in the heart of Hampden, right off the Avenue! F3male (CL blocks that word) preferred, but open to all genders. LGBTQIA+ friendly. I’m looking for someone who is respectful, clean, and will equally contribute to household chores. No tobacco and no smoking/vaping of any kind inside the house. You must be OK with pets as I have a dog and 2 cats, plus a foster cat who lives in my office. Unfortunately the house is at max capacity for cats and dogs, sorry!
The available room has a decent sized closet and gets great natural light. The house itself is spacious and bright with original hardwood floors throughout. It is furnished except for your room, although there might be some space available in the common areas depending on what you have. There's an unfinished basement for storage as well. The house has a washer and dryer, dishwasher, and garbage disposal in addition to the usual amenities. Outside there is a large, grassy, fenced-in backyard with trees, two patios, and a former vegetable garden just waiting to be restored to its former glory, if that’s your thing. The house has radiators for heat and window units for cooling. Parking is on the street but I rarely have issues finding a spot despite how close the house is to the avenue. Rent is $800 a month plus half the cost of utilities (which I try to keep low) and internet ($29).
The lease is for 1 year and renews on 10/1 but there may be some flexibility until 11/1 for the right person and with approval of the landlord. Please note that this is NOT a sub-lease; application process is through the landlord. You must be able to pass a background check, provide proof of income, etc. Also this room is single occupancy only. About me: I am a professional cis f3male in my mid-30s. I have lived in this house for two years and I can't say enough good things about it! I have the master bedroom and the third bedroom, which I use as my home office. I work from home about 50% of the time. I sometimes host movie/game nights with a few friends but in general I am pretty low-key.
