Submit Writings, Photos, Artwork for Publication (Journal for Human Advancement)

A forthcoming interdisciplinary journal is now open to submissions. The Journal for Human Advancement: Independent Projects for Progress and Human Rights is scheduled to publish its inaugural issue in early 2010. All types of submissions, including those in the social and natural sciences, as well as the arts, are wanted. This is a great opportunity to get published in a recognized Journal and to bring attention to some important issues and controversies.

There is no financial compensation for submitting your works, but authors and artists selected for publication will receive a copy of the journal, free of charge, for their portfolios if funding permits. The complimentary copy, if offered, will be in print or on CD, at the discretion of the Journal's staff.

For more information, visit our website at http://www.robertgoodis.org/journal_for_human_advancement today!

The Basics:
The Journal for Human Advancement: Independent Projects for Progress and Human Rights is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed publication prepared by The Goodis Center for Research and Reform, LLC. It is set to be published semi-annually online, on disc, and in print. The first issue is slated for early 2010.

The Purpose:
This Journal is published in order to encourage and develop a general public familiarity with human rights and to foster a productive critical understanding of human rights ideology and practice. Articles include basic introductions to the material, case studies, and theoretical discussions, as well as scientific and artistic works that deal with any themes in human rights.

This Journal is intended to work towards an understanding for the origins, development, direction, applications, conflicts and controversies in human rights, as well as to bring attention to both the relation between human rights and policy and the implementation of policies into practice. Moreover, the Journal for Human Advancement seeks to bring together various disciplines and genres to promote a multifaceted and interdisciplinary framework for evaluating human rights.

What's Inside:
The journal is a venue for all things dealing with human rights and/or human advancement. Works may include:

Essays, lectures, research reports or abstracts from any of the social or natural sciences.

Artistic media and multimedia presentations including, but not limited to: photographs and photo-essays, films and videos, theatrical performances and scripts, documentaries, dances, songs, readings, poetry, prose, drawings, sketches, paintings, graphic designs and studio arts, et cetera.

The Goodis Center encourages authors to submit works that contribute to an informed understanding of human rights and objective human advancement from any academic discipline or artistic genre. Works also include those that help to flesh-out discussions within human rights or to 'bring home' these matters to the audiences, as well as any works that problematize relevant ideology and policy. Acceptable submissions may simply review established literature with an accessible, well-rounded and articulated perspective or they may offer strong, progressive critiques of human rights. The Journal is also seeking works that can help to relate matters of human rights with our everyday lives.
