2. Checking to confirm the edits (as marked on ms.) have been made
3. Scan the text, follow sample pages
a. check all ¶s no oscs
b. check line breaks
c. placement of footnotes, tables figures
read/ check running heads
4. READ any keyed text or inserts
5. Check cross alignment of spreads
6. Verify all headers as coded on ms
7. confirm spacing around like elements
