Imagine your grandmother at home alone unable to prepare meals for her self or your uncle who is in a wheel chair being unable to leave his house.... Meals on Wheels is there to help.
Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland is a human-services volunteer based agency. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life of homebound individuals through nutritious meals, personal contact and related services.
What does homebound mean?
Our clients are unable to grocery shop or cook for themselves. There are no income restrictions to obtain service. Our clients rely on two home delivered meals a day to meet thier nutritional needs.
How can you help?
Our volunteers provide a valuable service. They not only deliver meals but they also provide a brief visit to our clients who may not see anyone else for the rest of the day.
Use your own vehicle to pick up and distribute hot and cold meals to our clients. Delivery takes place between 10:30am and 1:30pm, but only takes about an hour. Give your homebound neighbors an hour a month or more!
We are currently seeking volunteers in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties.
Please call Patrice Woodard at 443-573-0926 for more information. Log on to www.mealsonwheelsmd.org to fill out a volunteer application.
Make a difference in the life of a homebound neighbor... volunteer today!
