Calling all volunteers! We need your help at Sinai Hospitals 4th Annual "Race for Our Kids" on Sunday, June 1, 2008. The race starts at Pimlico Race Track, goes throughout Mt Washington and finishes at Sinai Hospital. We need volunteers in several areas to help make the race a success. Volunteer positions include:
Registration Tables - (3 tables) 6:00a.m. (25 people)
Check In
Getting t-shirt
Giving out bag
Handing out timing chips
Waiting Areas for each event - (6 people) 7:00 a.m.
- People will be lined up in a waiting area for each event. Volunteers will have signs designating the event and will help keep people organized and move lines to starting point when necessary.
Parking - (4 people) 6:00 a.m.
We will need people to guide cars into the correct place for parking, including making sure cars use every spot so no parking spots are missed.
Coffee Table - (2 people) 6:15 a.m.
There will be a Starbucks coffee table. Volunteers will just make sure the area stays neat and clean. Welcome people to the event, etc. They do not have to pour coffee for people.
Water Stops - (15 people) 6:45 a.m.
There are three water stops. Scott (race director) will be getting a volunteer who will be in charge. The person in charge will drive the other people to the water stop where they will set up and pass out water during the race. They will then drive back to Sinai for the post-race event. They will not have to break down the water stop but will help with clean up of cups. This is a lot of fun because you get to see all the runners and cheer them on.
Food Tent - (12 people) 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. (two shifts)
Volunteers will help Classic Catering with whatever they need. We are hoping to do two shifts. 7:30-9:30 and 9:00 to 11:00. Many people last year just stayed on to complete the second shift.
All proceeds from the race benefit the division of pediatric oncology at The Herman & Walter Samuelson Children's Hospital at Sinai. You can make a difference - sign up today! To volunteer, please call Jen Polkow Doyle in the Department of Development at 410-601-9328 or email jpolkow@lifebridgehealth.org.
