Asking $15 obo. This the remainder of some stuff I had from my grandfather's private surveying business. I do not have anything else I'm sorry to say. The set includes some protractor and protractor accessories, a brass Lufkin measure tape, a miniture 36" inch measure tape (silver), Pickett sliding Synchro Scale with leather case, an old wheel from a survey transit or level, and some sort of name brand timber cut scale that shows the different cut dimensions of wood cut by either a particular sawmill or saw tooth. The round transit / level wheel would be an excellent unique paper weight. Includes 3 reports my grandfather produced while in college (one is not pictured) and one booklet entitled: Woody Plants of the Mont Alto State Forest, Native and Introduced by T. Edward Shaw. I have a few more pictures if you're interested.
My grampa surveyed in Mississippi for over 35 years as a third career, but worked for the forestry service during WWII World War II in MS also, surverying timber to be cut for explosive powder manufacturing at Hecules plant in Hattiesburg. First he worked in the US Forest Service during WWII, then he retired as a public school science teacher, and finally he never really retired from surveying before he died in the early 90's. A very interesting a lovable man, patriotic, compassionate, hard worker, etc. He is missed.
