The Microsoft Amalga project is seeking a candidate to fill the Programmer/Analyst position for the development of the Johns Hopkins Enterprise Patient record based on the Microsoft Amalga platform. The responsibilities for this position include the design, development and implementation the user interface and database interface mechanisms for the Microsoft Amalga enterprise application. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years experience in the following technologies:
• SQL Server 2005 including SSIS • SQL Server associated product stack, including Microsoft Reporting Services and Microsoft Analysis Services • Microsoft .NET Framework database application development • Visual Studio Suite including VSS • Experience with WPF & COM a plus. • C# Programming experience a plus as well.
The Microsoft Amalga project is a fast-paced, technically demanding project which will require special skills, including:
• Adaptability to new tools and techniques • Ability to perform balanced critiques of design features and options • Demonstrated ability to quickly create working prototypes and work with stakeholders and colleagues to rapidly adapt a design to meet customer needs • Ability to define and implement processes and controls in database management appropriate to the project. These processes and controls must support the IT@JH Project Management Framework and the Data Security Measures • Team player, someone who works well with others and alone on specific projects.
Education: BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with the following experience: HL7 interface development, Clinical Information Systems development and/or Clinical Research Data Management.
