Summary of Position: This position is responsible for reviewing project specifications; conferring with engineers concerning assistance required to collect data and develop projects from initial stages to final engineered pipeline projects. - Research and identify trends / latest strategies in data center design.
- Identify and develop symbiotic relationships / partnerships with other Product Manufacturers serving the data center market to solidify the use of access floors
- Identify 3rd party experts /white papers supporting the use of A/F for data centers
- Identify and develop relationships with leading Design, Contracting, IT & Facility Management, and Hardware/Software manufacturing firms within the following sectors:
o Corporate
o Co-location
o Telecommunication
- Participate in data center industry organizations such as Uptime Institute, 7x 24, AFCOM, etc. participate in tradeshows, and speak at conferences
Knowledge and Skills Required:
A. Education
Four (4) year degree from an accredited institution
B. Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years professional experience in data center design, planning, construction, or operation
C. Skills Required:
Strong organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
Proficient using Autocad and Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Powerpoint
CFD Modeling experience preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage engineering staff, establish guidelines, and maintain high quality standards
Engineering and design of large-scale commercial audio, video, and control systems
Promote academic component utilizing continuing education and professional trade association participation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5-10 years experience in an A/V engineering position
Bachelors degree in related field required, CTS-D or related industry certification preferred.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, DSP Programming, Control Systems, System Test and Measurement
Excellent communication and organizational skills, written and oral
Ability to efficiently complete projects within allotted time, independently determine and set priorities and effectively manage work schedule to produce measurable and valuable results.
