Client is seeking experienced Linux System Administrators to join their team im Baltimore MD
Successful Candidates must be comfortable installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Red Hat Enterprise Linux
in production or development environments.
The ideal candidate is experienced in a wide spectrum of related technicalskill areas including TCP/IP
networking, scripting, system backup and restores, software packaging and development, and peer mentoring in a
leadership capacity.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
BS in communiction Engineering Computer Science, or another IT related curriculum
8+ years experience as Systems Administrator in a production data center or team
development enviroment.
Proficiency in both manual and automated Red Hat Enterprise Linux
installations
Proficiency in system and network configuratin and troubleshooting
Experience in scripting languages (e.g. Bash (prefered) Bourne Cshell, Perl)
Experience planning for and performing backups, restores, and disk imaging
(e.g. dump, restore, dd)
Experience in installation and monitoring of application servers
(e.g. Tomcat and Apache)
Experience with virtualization technologies
(e.g. VMware, Xen, Kickstart
RHEL 4/RHEL 5 experience
Experience with integrating Linux and Windows environments
RPM (Red Hat Package Manager- building, scripting, executing)
Experience with the following:
Remote Support, (PIXIE boot servers) Errata patching/updating, Building Linux Kernals,
tweaking Cisco Catalyst Switches (POE or otherwise), and Ghost Utilities
Experience providing guidance to less experiences system administrators.
Self motivated team player who can work as high-level independent contributor
or Team Lead.
Ability to integrate into a multi contractor Team
Must Have Linux and Solaris experience for this posistion to be considered
Desired Skills:
Experience in database installation, upgrades, and maintenance
(e.g. MYSQL, Oracle Postgre SQL
Knowledge of the certification and accreditation (C&A) Process and
requirements defined by NISCAP AND DITSCUP,
Applicable recongnized certification (e.g RHCT, RHCE) are preferred
Satellite Server Experience
Experience with Dell 1650, 1750, 1850, 1950 is a plus
Knowledge of GSM is desired.
