I am searching for a MEP Manager with government buildings, lab or hospitals experience in the Greater Maryland Area. The responsibilities include coordinator/design drafter to work with on-site MEP trade subcontractors and general contractors. We maintain constructability while fitting into and negotiating for assigned space. The coordinator/design drafter shall be responsible for translating the coordination effort into detailed layouts used for the installation drawing set for the field installation crews. When not directly attending on-site and virtual coordination meetings and/or developing installation drawings, the coordinator/design drafter shall complete other work such as completion of as-built drawings, assembling and submitting project submittals, RFI development, and other assigned tasks.
Create initial 3D system layout models using AutoCAD MEP as a basis for coordination.
Attend on-site and virtual construction coordination or project progress meetings.
Work with general contractors and MEP trade contractors to determine acceptable routing and equipment locations.
Prepare system drawing packages utilizing AutoCAD that are consistent with the coordination meeting discussions and agreements.
Manage all site related design information including the review of general contractor initiated paperwork, schedules, RFI’s, etc. and address all items that have an impact.
Assemble, submit, and track both drawing submittals and project related submittals as necessary to assist the project manager. This shall include drawing submittals to owners, owner’s representatives, and/or permitting agencies
Requirements
Skilled in MEP
5 or more years in MEP coordination with large commercial, lab or hospitals using CAD detailing in a construction environment
Willingness to travel to job sites when necessary.
Capability of managing multiple simultaneous tasks with assigned deadlines
