Job Title: Marine Engineer
Location: Baltimore, MD
Salary: Negotiable
Responsibilities:
Conduct field investigations and perform failure/accident analysis on incidents involving all types of vessels and mechanical equipment
Conduct vessel accident reconstruction and mechanical/electrical failure analysis
Provide technical findings and conclusions in laymens terms, both verbally and in writing
Conduct unbiased investigations for various types of clients
Support conclusions by appropriate testimony in legal proceedings
Responsible for retention and development of client relations
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Requirements:
Education
Minimum of B.S. in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum of ten years of maritime engineering experience
U.S.C.G Chief Engineer License for Steam, Gas Turbine and Motor Vessels Any
Horsepower
P.E. Registration or ability to obtain
Must possess strong writing skills
Failure analysis experience a plus
Requires 25% travel
Physical Requirements:
Ability to maneuver in and around vessels and other mechanical equipment
Ability to lift 40 lbs
Ability to drive to site locations
