As you probably know, mastering is the final step in the recording process and having an objective ear with the right tools can make a world of difference with your recording.

I use Sony CD Architect 5.2 for most of my mastering. I import your 16 or 24 bit tracks into CD Architect and arrange them in the order you want. Where needed, I will adjust EQ, trim, fade, crossfade, compress, limit, maximize, normalize and finally dither. Mastering and burning of your final product are all done in one program which all adds up to a better sounding recording.

Your songs are then uploaded to the web for your approval. If your happy with the final product you can pay by cash, check or PayPal and your mastered disc will be mailed to you same day. If you are unhappy with a particular track I will do my best to rectify it at no extra cost to you.

Bear in mind, I cannot perform miracles. If you have a poorly mixed or recorded song mastering is not going to save it.
There are several steps you can take while mixing to make for easier mastering:
1. If you recorded your music in high-resolution audio, then mix as high-resolution files.
2. Do not dither individual mixes (this is the very last step of mastering and burning)
3. Don't add any fades while mixing - fades and crossfades should be done while mastering.

Rates: $25 per hour payable by cash, check or PayPal.

More Advice and the Competition
Even if you do not choose to use my services, please use this as a guide to make a more informed decision. It's real easy for unqualified techs to make a problem even worse.

Most support contracts offered by big companies are covered by computer techs who use a pre-scripted pool of questions which half of them have nothing to do with your problem (HOW ANNOYING!) Wouldn't life be so much better if you just told the tech what it is that was going on, and they could think for themselves and not be totally reliant on that computer?! Isn't that what you paid for?? Furthermore, by the time you go through the umpteen automated phone menus, you've spent 25-30 minutes before you even started figuring out your problem!

Geek Squad (Best Buy's inhouse support) and FireDog (Circuit City's inhouse support) will charge top dollar (IE: $200 for a wireless network, which BTW takes 30 mins tops!) for a staff with sub-par abilities. They may know how to fix certain things, but their knowledge is very narrow and most of the time, if your question is out of the scope of the job at hand, they will not know the answer. These are $12-$15/hour techs, so their skill sets will not be nearly as advanced as mine.

Most computer techs have certifications that are very narrow in scope. You will see such certifications as A+, Net+, Security+, MCP, and whatever else they can come up with. If the average joe knew what it took to get these certifications, you would never spend the outrageous money they want to charge for their services. Most of these certifications require you to read a book, memorize some questions/answers from practice tests, and then go take the test. This is known as a "paper certified" technician. He may have the little shiney paper saying he's certified, but does he really possess the skill sets? I have these certifications as well as a bachelor's and master's degree, so please feel confident in my abilities.

Do your own research, go to www.google.com and search what "Paper Certified" means in terms of having certifications. A+, MCP, Network+, Security+ are very entry level certifications, and the scope they cover is very narrow. Do your homework on what these credentials take to obtain, and you will see its not very difficult. Good luck in your search in finding help, and hopefully you will choose me :)
