Classroom 34 Helps Local Artists Find Their Voice
Baltimore, MD, October 30, 2009 – Becoming a successful voiceover artist requires a couple of things: a great voice and determination. There is a lot of work to be had but there's also a lot of competition. By being persistent, honing your skills, and networking, you can secure a spot in the marketplace.
Classroom 34 invites you to join voiceover veteran Chris Graybill for an informative, three-hour tour of the world of professional voiceover that explores the myths and realities of the voiceover business. If you're an actor or singer looking for extra income, or people have told you that you have a distinctive voice.
In this workshop you will learn how to get started in the business, get professional training and coaching, develop a demo, when to invest money in a demo, and what it takes to create a home studio. Those in attendance can expect to gain insight into professional opportunities beyond traditional TV/radio commercials. This includes corporate communication, documentaries, promos, Internet narration and more. The workshop offers a chance to hear a pro voiceover demo and what an audio script looks like.
Chris Graybill has worked for 15 years in the Baltimore/Washington market. "I have done every kind of voiceover there is, including more than 500 commercials; documentaries for PBS, Discovery Channel, and the Learning Channel. I truly enjoy what I do".
Graybill has also done voiceovers for hundreds of Fortune 500 corporations, promos for Maryland Public Television, and more than 100 audio books. In 2006, Publishers Weekly honored his performance of Jess Walter's The Zero with a Listen Up award, as one of the best fiction audio books of the year.
